Midwife

I had my first appointment with the midwife when i was 7 weeks im classed as high risk as my son was so small and i have epilepsy my midwife doesnt want to see me again until im 16 weeks! Is that normal? I dont even meet the obstrational team until then (consultants and epilepsy specialists) to me that seems lile far to long a wait ! Has anyone elses midwife done this ? I dont want to miss out on important tests regardless if the baby has a condition im still going to have it but would rather know so i could do my reserch xx
