More babies?!?

How far after the birth of one baby can you conceive another? I want to make sure I don't risk my or the next babies health!!

I am now 33 weeks with my second. I got pregnant when my son was 10 months old (intentionally) and I thought this pregnancy would be as easy as the first. It was so smooth that I was even considering being a surrogate in the next couple years, not anymore. My body was not ready.. I started off this pregnancy immediately with all the aches and pains, sciatica, heartburn all of it full on that I had at the end of the first. I'm also carrying extremely low which causes a ton of pressure and varicose veins from the waist down because nothing had time to go back fully. This whole pregnancy has been miserable to the point that I don't want any more kids. I would whole heartedly suggest waiting longer for your body to be ready. Feeling like you are pregnant for 2 years is just not fun.

I have always heard as a rule of thumb it takes 9 months to get that way, it takes 9 months to get back to how you were after birth. But I know many who have used breastfeeding as birth control and ended up with babies that are 10 months apart.

I know it's 6 months to a year after you have a c-section (since the incision needs to heal quite significantly) but I don't believe there's a very long time frame after a vaginal birth.

Most doctors recommend that you wait until your baby is 2 to start trying again, so that your body can fully heal

I just took care of a patient who has a 9week old, and while in the hospital we confirmed she was 6 weeks 4 days pregnant 😬 she thought she was so sick related just giving birth...nope she was so sick because she was pregnant with baby #2!

I had my 1st on May 27, 07.  Had my 2nd on May 12, 08.
Found out I was pregnant when my 1st was 3 months lol.
Baby was healthy...I was too.  Just had a really hard time losing the baby weight

I got pregnant when my son was 7 months. My dr suggests 18 months between births. Especially for a c section.

You're supposed to wait 6 weeks I believe but my friend went into her 6 week post partum check up and found out she was about 3-4 weeks pregnant. Both her and baby were healthy (they are now 13&12).
