Sex With Herpes??

Hi everyone. So I posted yesterday about my finishing out that I have herpes. Thank you all for being so supportive! I truly appreciate it. I looked online but I got a little confused so I'm posting on here to get more insight. So how is sex with herpes? Mainly can I still have oral sex? Is it terrible of me to have sex without a condom? & etc. I do get sex without a condom is bad period, especially now that I have herpes. But (I hope this doesn't make me sound bad I'm honestly trying to just get an understanding) since both my boyfriend & I have herpes would it be safe to have sex w/o a condom? I am on birth control too. Any insight is greatly appreciated! & thank you to everyone for being there & so supportive of me💜
Update: My first outbreak was a week ago, and I did have blisters. I'm also not having sex until the doctors tell me it's safe again :)

Both me and my fiancé have herpes we don't use protection but with that being said if either of you have an out break it is not smart to have sex or give oral at that time as it will spread to whoever doesn't have it and you'll just continue to swap it back and forth. It sucks big time but saying this as a woman the sores are not fun. I would suggest if you are both able to take suppression medication. I've been able to deal with out it but sometimes I wish I took it on a regular basis to decrease the outbreaks.

Just avoid sex/oral during active breakouts and there shouldn't be an issue. Also, both of you should take lysine every day, it works wonders with helping suppress the virus. And just a FYI, you're more likely to have outbreak when you're sick or right before your period, so amp up the lysine during these times.

Be honest with new partners. But as long as you and your partner don't have sex during breakouts your are good.  Definitely avoid oral sex during a breakout because it will spread to your face.  However if breakouts aren't present then you're good to go.

If you're boyfriend has it too I don't see an issue with unprotected sex, assuming you're just avoiding spreading herpes (obviously pregnancy and other stds can be a factor). But you should let new partners know before you have sex of any kind even protected.  Oral sex will lead to herpes outbreaks in and around your mouth.

You need to have sex with a Condon on. Oral sex you need to use a dental damn. You need to protect any partners you have. And legally you have to tell them you have herpies before you kiss them or have sex with them or any sexual contact. If you don't and they get herpies they can sue you and will win. Make sure you tell your boyfriend and ALWAYS use condoms to protect him from getting herpies. There is medication you can get on that will help prevent outbreaks. And I believe there is a medication that can help prevent him from getting it from you. (Not fully sure if it's herpies or hep-c that has that medication. It's one of those two and I'm craving a blank which one it is)
