When did you know?

I've been dating my boyfriend for almost a year and I already know that I want to marry him. I don't know how to describe the feeling. Of course we are not ready for marriage as we both have a lot of growing to do individually and as a couple. I see it as clear as day that I want this and I will work my butt off for it. I even dreamed about us being engaged not that long after we met!! My mom has even asked me if we've talked about it... Did you guys feel this way with your husband/wife?

I think this is a common feeling for a lot of people even when they are with the wrong person. Infatuation kind of does that to people, especially young people. The "you know" moment is more of a realization that comes with time, you may even contemplate ending it or wondering what you'd do with out them... Then you realize that's not an option anymore.

If its just a feeling then I def would not base a relationship on that. There has to be chemistry, of course, but to make it long term you need a much more solid foundation because after awhile, those 'feelings' fade and you are left with reality. Ask yourself how does he treat others? His family? How does he manage his money? What does he spend his time doing? Does he want kids? Is he someone you would look up to and admire if you weren't in love with him? Does he have goals? Is he self-sacrificing? Does he make you want to be a better person or do you end up doing things you shouldn't when you're with him or because of him? It's good to be excited to get married but it is a huge decision with lots of things to take into consideration besides just feelings.

My husband says he knew the moment we met lol so cheesy. And I say I knew when we got together and he said I love you. I also knew because i had made a promise to myself. I only had 1 "BF" in HS and after that I said " I'm not having any more bfs. I want my next BF to be the one I marry" ha so crazy so when I remembered that I was like YESSS I like this one 😁 lol

Hubby and I had an understanding within four months of dating.  We were officially engaged and planning a quick wedding at 15 months.  We had known each other for 5 years before beginning to date though.
