Contractions?

So I just called my doc and he just said that if I have more than 4 in an hour to go be seen. Well what about all the rules of timing them and getting stronger and all that?

I suppose it depends on how far along you are, because if you're 35 weeks (I think) or earlier they would try to stop the contractions, so yes you would need to go to L&D asap, but if you are further along then the timing of contractions and all that would be more applicable.

My doctor said the same thing. 4 or 6 (I can't rmemeber) painful contractions in an hour to call him. He didn't say anything about how far apart or the levels of intensity.

My dr told me they aren't "real contractions" unless they follow the 5-1-1 rule. I have terrible Braxton hicks with all of my pregnancies and they are strong to, basically feel like the beginning of labor. If I went in everytime I had 4 in one hour I would be there everyday. But if your dr is telling you to go in then I would go in.

And I am so confused , what kind of contractions , because they say we have the Braxton hicks contractions , how in the world are we suppose to know the difference between a real contrAction and a bh contraction???

Correct, if you are having 4-6 within an hour you should call your doctor.
