Relaxing instead of turning on

My so was doing everything he normally does to turn me and instead of me getting turned on  it relaxed me almost to the point of falling asleep.. He feels like he did something wrong because he couldn't turn me on, I feel bad about the whole thing because I don't know why it made me so relaxed and not at all turned on... Has anyone else ever had this happen???
