Are men just cowards or what

Why do men so often just let us walk out of there lifes and say they love us yet never do anything about it. Are they just cowards, not interested, or just to lazy to be the men us women need in our lives these days.  We can take care of ourselves yes but along with a mans help and love.   27 years old 2 long term relationships my whole life.  Thought he was the one..   On walking I go.. I suppose.
