Birth control ?????

Hello! I started birth control earlier this month to help with cramps, acne and to prevent pregnancy. I've never ever missed a period and they're almost always on time (give or take 2 days). I was just wondering if it's normal to not get your period or have it be late when starting birth control, even if you've always been regular. My period isn't due until the beginning of August. I'm just curious!
