15, sex advice

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year a half. I wanted to take things slow and he respected that. We are both each others first kiss and basically each other's first of anything that comes along in a relationship. We've done everything but sex, I told him I wanted to wait until I was ready and until i felt it was right time for both of us. I feel as if very soon I will be ready for sex. I want to go on birth control pills but I'm struggling to do so (because of parents). My boyfriend and I both decided he will use a condom and I will use something as well for extra protection. I know 15 is young-- in a few months I will be 16 and by the time we have sex I will probably be 16. I feel like I'm making the right choice. Any suggestions or thoughts?
