You can talk to your doctor about taking bc pills to help stop your period during his visit. I was always grossed out by period sex too, until we tried it once. Lay on a towel (i didnt even bleed on the towel) or do it in the shower.  Its really no different than normal, and now as long as im feeling ok hubby doesn't consider period days to be no sex days. It really isnt bad at all, or any messier than his orgasm. It might be worth trying!
