Lack of sex in a relationship!?!?!

Ok so I've been with my partner for almost 6 months; our whole relationship we haven't had sex much at all like only a handful of times! In the beginning when we were talking and getting to know one another he told he loved sex and did it as much as possible and that he'd be all over me a lot of the time; well since being together I've noticed that he barely wants sex and I have my needs and I really love doing things with him so Im really wanting more sex in our relationship cause I need intimacy and that connection or I start to get down and depressed and I start feeling really unattractive! I don't know what's going on I've been freaking out and I've asked if there's anything wrong and he keeps telling me no but I have this feeling something isn't right! I guess what I'm trying to ask is how can I go about talking to him about this cause I've tried a few times and it seems like it's not getting through to him? I love him more then anything but I'm feeling like I'm unwanted in a sexual way!
