Thankfully I haven't. My coworkers make jokes sometimes but it's never anything bad. Everyone's always trying to help eachother out here and make sure everyone's okay since we are dealing with guests and don't want our characters struggling. I love it here 😍

Yeah the owner told my boss not to hire me because I was pretty after I got the job!...I worked with primarily men and I guess their productivity when down because they would all set in parts and apparently state at me so then the decided to keep the door shut which in return lock me in something the size of a closet! But it wasn't all bad! There are perks to working with me...you usually get your way on things! Like having the door reopened!! 😂

An old boss almost didn't hire me because I wasn't yet a mother, therefore lacked maternal instinct and a true understanding of responsibility.

He also would talk about women with a client on speaker, making it impossible to not overhear. One conversation being about "women who work in federal departments are useless, what's the point of having them around if not to look at and f***".

A fellow coworker was reported for sexual harassment seven times before I got there, before hr made him go through trainer. Of course it made little difference. He would make comments on the role of women, on how I was dressed. Once when ordering a veggie burrito from our delivery lady, he offered to buy me a meat burrito because it looked like " I could use some meat and he'd be happy to fill me up."

Both men were married mind you. It wasn't long after that I quit.

I was recently passed over for a promotion because I'm pregnant. Of course that's not the reason they gave me when they went with someone else, but what am I supposed to believe after I've been told that my interview was "the best by far they've ever had for a similar position" the manager said that I was super composed and had all the right answers and that he knows I'll go places but that they've decided to go in another direction. Instead they promoted another guy. Me and the only other female colleague at my level have both felt pushback with our ideas and how we want to run our departments where's the boys get to do whatever they want. I work twice as hard for half of the recognition that my male colleagues get and its ultra frustrating! This is the first time in my life that I've dealt with this type of discrimination and I don't even know how to deal with it :/

Men like to assume I'm weak, I don't know fully if it's because I'm a girl or if it's because I do look a bit weak, but I'm actually strong as fuck somehow. I like to hope I change their assumptions when I lift 13 stone men unaided or carry a tray full of 20 odd cups full of tea and a jug of milk and not spill a drop 💪

I worked at a company as a mechanical engineer and heard one of our customers ask the owner, "You actually trust her to do more than answer phones?",  shortly after he implied I couldn't do my job as well as a man because I bled and became emotional every month. I don't work there anymore.

when I was a hostess in a restaurant and had to go back into the kitchen, a couple of the guys in there would whistle at me every. single. time. It was annoying af but I just ignored it. Some of the customers that came in were really creepy assuming that it's perfectly okay to try to give me a hug or flirt with me. It wasn't. I wasn't even legal yet, Smfh.

Where I work, even though it is a woman-dominated field, there is a case of unequal pay. Four men have been hired as full-time special education aides with benefits at $15 an hour. MEANWHILE, all the women are only paid for 29.5 hours a week, no benefits, and all but a few under $15. And when we took it to the teacher's union, we got brushed off.

At the last restaurant I worked at all the girls were servers and all the boys were bartenders, and bartenders were automatically managers. It was a total boys club and the GM/owner was always giving them hockey tickets and gift cards and buying them meals and drinks and none of the girls ever got anything. They were all nice enough and never said anything outwardly mysogynistic, but it was a very sexist environment
