Emergency contraceptive?

My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex the other day. (We have sex regularly but we normally use a condom.) He pulled out but I wasn't 100% sure he didn't cum inside of me. Although I'm on birth control I decided to take emergency contraceptive just in case since. I took it a couple days before I was supposed to start my period. I'm two days late now. Is this normal? When should I take a pregnancy test?
