so happy not to be pregnant anymore HAHA
My little blessing decided he didn't wanna miss out on the party and came the day of my baby shower. Personally looking back on it I think I was in labor for a full or close to or even over 48 hrs!!! because 2 days before June 26th (my shower date) I started feeling what I originally thought was just more Braxton Hicks .. but I noticed as time went along they weren't really going away and If they did they would come back an hour or 2 later..I did research for hours on the differences between Hicks and real labor contractions and kept reading that you will be able to time your contraction and they will get closer together and the pain will only increase this was not the case for me! Mine was sporadic and the pain although mainly was getting worse there were times when it would ease up a little so I was completely confused this being my first kid I had no idea what to expect. My mom fiance and soon to be mother in law all told me I was over reacting so I finally let it go and went about my day I went to the movies walked around the mall etc all while in labor! Hahah but the morning before my shower I noticed blood dripping out of my vagina little by little and I knew something was up so I had my mom drive me to the hospital in my baby shower dress and heels lol when I got there I was already 4cm dilated!!! Scary shit let me tell you. My placental abruption which is when your placenta starts moving away/detaching from your uterus before birth which can show risk for the baby's health & oxygen also can cause severe bleeding for mom & child. Luckily when they told me this I didn't know what it was or I would have FLIPPED SHIT. Lol anyway next thing I know I'm 8cm dilated and finally being asked whether or not I want an epidural I went ahead and got it for my fear of pushing.. honestly didn't need it my birth was yes uncomfortable but not so much painful atleast not nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Could of gone with out one. In fact I didn't really like towards the end not being able to have as much mobility in my legs I don't like being numb so maybe would have been better off without one. They gave me drugs to help break my water sense for some reason that took forever they ended up breaking it themselves they couldn't wait any longer! And neither could I haha. My little man came out on the dot 34weeks so roughly 6-8 weeks early but came out 5.6 lbs and 13.5 inches he only stayed in the nicu for like 12-14 days just to make sure his eating patterns would be normal and his jaundice stayed at an intermittent level. Jaxton is now 1 month and 2 days old and already has the biggest personality! Anyways this was my funny experience with my first baby. Just thought I'd share. Why not
