Scared to love again

So I've met this guy and he's 23 I'm almost 18. Yes he has some problems but I think I'm falling in love with him. My last relationship was shit and he was abusive physically and emotionally. He treats me like I'm actually worth something. He calls me beautiful no man has ever called me beautiful not even my ex. He wants to go places with me even to wait in the waiting room while I go to counceling. He's there when I need him. So I don't know what's wrong with me I'm so afraid to fall in love again.
