Any teachers due in January?

How does that work with maternity leave happening right when test-prep is going on? Here in Florida, testing starts in March so I'd be out all of January and February.

I'm in a co-taught class this year, so I'm much less worried than I would be otherwise. I'd say try to get the best substitute your district has so that they can be teaching, and maybe if you have coworkers that teach the same content they would be willing to share and collaborate with your sub.

I am  teacher and plan on working as long as I can.  I am a little worried about test prep but I have a great team.  I want to take the full 12 weeks if I can which puts me going back to work the last month of school.

I'll be going off of work in December when I'm 36 weeks if I make it until then. You never know!

I am a teacher and will be starting at a new school this year, which means I get a whopping 15 days of maternity leave and the rest will be unpaid - yay. I'm hoping to take 8 weeks which will essentially me going back for a week in January after winter break and then being gone though spring break (mid-March). I am a guidance counselor and have a part time counselor at my school as well that I think will cover my maternity leave.

That is my situation plus I'm a first year teacher!!! Luckily a teacher who decided to take a year off to be a stay at home mom is doing my maternity leave so I'm not to stressed. She already knows the drill:)

I'm also a teacher,  but I work with seniors so luckily I am not responsible for any test prep at that time. The best thing your school can do is get a qualified sub to cover the entirety of your leave, because you can't change your due date! I know I'm stressing thinking about leaving my students for so long (also my school tends to get terrible subs, or it's like a rotating door and you get no consistency so the students suffer), but I'm just making peace with it because it is what it is and it will be mostly out of my control. I am so excited about having my first I just want to enjoy it! Good luck!
