Condom issue

My boyfriend and I have been having sex for 9 months now. Not once have we ever used protection. There was a scare this one time (here recently) that we thought I was pregnant. I wasn't, but it made me want to start using protection. I talked to him about it and he was upset that I wanted to do that because a buddy of his said it didn't feel that good with a condom on. My boyfriend gave me his virginity so he has never had sex with one on. I don't really know what to tell him about how it feels to have a condom on because I'm not a dude. I wanna know has any guy ever said anything about it to y'all? Thank you for the help!
