TMI: 5 weeks bleeding

I am 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. I have had bleeding like this since last night. Sometimes it's slightly heavier, but other times it's lighter. There has been some tissue, but no big blood clots. Prior to this, I had 2 days of brown stringy discharge, but only when I wiped. I was certain I was having a miscarriage, but now I'm not so sure. The bleeding doesn't seem to be as heavy and it mainly happens when I go to the bathroom. Has this happened to anyone else? I don't have my first ultrasound until August 17 and I can't believe I have to wait that long. Thanks in advance.
