Belly hair

So ever since I got pregnant I've been having lots of hair growing on my belly. Kind of like a happy trail and all around my belly button. They're getting really long and they're black.. I heard not to shave them cause if I do they won't go away after pregnancy? It's driving me insane cause now there's even more hair and getting even longer. It's gross /:

Can I shave it? Or what should I do?
