Gas and heartburn relief ??

What do you ladies use for gas and heart burn j have been using tums but not working and last time I got gas so back that it travelled up in to my shoulder blades and the pressure was so bad I couldn't breath very well and was passing out cause of the pain and prolly cause i was freakin out called advice nurse and they just told me to wait for it to pass it took an hr for the pain to subside so just wondering what everyone using for it.
