T-dap aka whooping cough

Am I over reacting is my question!? I asked my mother to get the t-dap vaccine. I said it's important to me. And she said "Sarah, I did daycare for 25 years and worked at a center for 2 years and never had whooping cough" I said that's fine. But I'm not gonna risk my infant son's life over this. I said you can choose to get it and see him when you want or choose not to get it and I will limit your interaction with him. Especially if you're sick.
