7 month food question!?

My sons going to be 8 months on aug 23rd.. Is anyone's baby chewing food yet? Seems like my son dosent and I'm worried he'll choke when I tried little star noodles the other day.

I skipped purées and went straight to finger food at 6 months. She does well :)

My son will be 9 months tomorrow and he loves his purées but he also love pasta. I think it's the number 27 shells. He also hs quinoa puffs by sprout foods.  The other finger foods he really doesn't like unless they are purées- avocado, banana. My baby has 8 teeth but yeah I was worried about choking too but they know how to gum their food. For the pasta I cook it till its tender not al dente

Mine has started moving from purees to finger foods. I started with chunkier purees, and very small bits of banana and scrambled egg, things he could chew, but not choke on. This week, we've started puffs, and he's doing really well!  He had a pincer grip very early, and showed a ton of interest in grabbing the food or the spoon, so I knew he was ready.

Are you baby led meaning or doing purees? Some babies just don't like the texture of food  and prefer purees, or the other way around. Does baby seem interested? If not, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
