Possible to pump and only bottle feed?

I've heard several different things. Woman that have just pumped to bottle feed? How was your experience!? He's 4 days old and I'm breastfeeding. Not even sure if I can pump right now and manage to produce more milk to keep him fed. But he's doing pretty good breastfeeding I just don't want to do it. I know to done that might be horrible

I exclusively pumped for my first and wouldn't wish it on anybody...couldn't get my supply to be adequate, resented being strapped to a machine like 3 hours a day and constantly washing bottles and equipment, and as baby got older it was really hard to keep him happy while I pumped. This time I'm nursing my daughter and find it so much more peaceful and flexible...I still pump and bottle feed sometimes but nursing has become the easiest option. First 4-6 weeks were tough but after it was great and my supply is so much better this time. But every situation is different so do what works for you!

I exclusively pump from day 1. And have not had any problems. I pump anywhere from 28 to 35 ounces a day. I do not eat anything extra or take any of that boost supply stuff. My LO is now 23 days old and I've been pumping the whole time without issues.

If you want to switch over at least wait until your milk is established after 2 weeks, then pumping would be more effective as bubs will have increased your supply more effectively than a pump can

If you switch to EP now your supply will probably take a big dip, since pumps don't pull milk as good as babies do. You may have to supplement, but it's still possible over the coming weeks to strengthen your supply again. Many women EP successfully for months. Pumping does not have the same effect as straight bfing- the pump doesn't completely empty your breast like a baby- so w exclusively pumping, there is a good chance over time your supply won't keep up and decrease
