Is it wrong for me not to want to breast feed anymore?

My baby is 1 month & he latches on perfectly & likes my milk but I'm miserable. My boobs are always engorged and always hurt and its very time consuming. I really want to keep breastfeeding because I know its good for him but idk if I can pass another month.

Its totally okay for you to do whatever is best for you before my delivery i was all up for full time brestfeeding until i started to it was really hard for me with cracked nipples and skin pealing off i cried and cried for no reason at all i was losing my sanity wasnt  enjoying my baby at all.. I always cringed at the thought of next feed but then i decided to start giving him formula now we both are happy !! So please do whatever you think is best for you no one knows you better than yourself

You have to do what's right for you. My lo will be 6 weeks this week and we just stopped. I wasn't producing enough and pumping/stressing about my supply/baby getting angry at the breast just wasn't a good fit for us. Some people do great at it and others just aren't. I'm one of the ones who isn't. I could've been great at it but I'm not the type to be okay with a baby attached to my boobs all day long. I stopped for my own sanity. I've been suffering with guilt but the guilt is being overshadowed by a happy, full baby and a mama who doesn't feel like she's losing herself or her mind anymore. Don't feel bad for feeling this way. 1 month of breast milk is longer than a lot of babies get (and that's ok too). A happy mama means you'll have a happy baby!!

Keep hanging in there. It gets easier. I hated breast feeding with a passion until my daughter was 6 weeks.

You are not wrong at all ... Your baby ... Your breast... Your choice... I have been breastfeeding but exclusively pumping and I still get the barrage of "baby needs to latch to maintain supply" comments ... My LO gets annoyed and doesn't latch well and it becomes time consuming and he gets really irritable... But since I've been pumping and bottle feeding him it works better... It is still slot of work because you have to pump but it works for me... But I also have he desire to start formula ... It is so much easier... But personally take into account the financial aspect of it as well... Do what's best for you and your baby... And forget whoever does not support it ... They aren't the ones having to do it ...

I honestly hate BFing.

1st kid: bf till 10 months, she stopped on her own and that's how I found out I was pregnant with her little sister.

2nd kid: bf till 15 months and disliked it so much. I did it until I just couldn't anymore, every time she would latch my skin would crawl.

3rd kid: he's only two weeks so I've got some time left 😒😂

My thoughts are this, bfing is a mutual relationship, and it stops being ok when you can no longer do it, your reasons are your own. I can tell you it becomes easier around the 3m mark but it's your body mama, you are under no obligation to continue to share it 💗

I'd hang in there if I were you.  Just for a few more weeks because it will get easier. But if you can't, remember that you tried and that every drop you gave baby counts!

I have had an emotional and painful breastfeeding journey, so I totally get it! Tongue tie, cracked nipples, mastitis, milk blister that had to be cut open (currently have another that needs to be dealt with), being up all hours of the night, just started back at work and now have to deal with pumping, etc.. I have about 4 types of formula sitting, waiting to be used. My husband keeps asking me when he can start introducing formula.... If I could do it all over again, I would have done things differently but for now I just set tiny goals (sometimes as short as trying to make it to the next feeding). Current goal is making it 6 months (only 2 weeks away). Making small goals can make it more palatable.

I love this whole thread. Most days I hate hate breastfeeding. I started supplementing with organic formula a few weeks ago to help my sanity. Baby is 5weeks old and I fantasize about quitting all the time. Haha. I'd like to go a minimum of 3-6 months and everyone claims it gets easier, so I'm pushing thru. But damn I hate it. It doesn't hurt, but it's just not my thing. I'm too stubborn to quit yet. I just remind myself of the health benefits for baby ...
