Essential Oils?

Hello ladies! Someone recently told me about essential oils, and it seems they have an oil for everything! It also seems they have a blend for TTC, pregnancy both for stretch marks and for morning sickness, and a blend that claims to soothe teething pain, and gas in infants. Anyone have any experience?

Essential oils can be dangerous for infants and small children. Even to adults if not used properly.

Be very careful and check with medical experts. My friend sells oils and is all "they're better than meds because they're natural!" So are arsenic and lead, but that doesn't mean they're good for you. Like pp said, some are not safe for babies. Others are not safe if used undiluted. And you CAN be allergic to them (my friend swore you couldn't and yet I've found most of them irritate my sensitive skin and allergies).  Also be aware of the claims made by them. I've had a friend swear oils helped cure her pink eye in "less than a week!" (Aka about the same as it regularly would have cleared up).

That said, you may find you like some. I used frankincense on my c section scar and noticed a difference, and continue to use tea tree oil on my acne.

Make sure you find someone in your area that sells them and get all the info you can even talk to your midwife or OBGYN and ask what ones you can use.
