Should I be made to feel guilty?!

Question

Okay, so recently a friend of mine posted to her Facebook about how she's homeschooling her children because this world is just too dark and terrible for her kids to be a part of, especially with the rise of transgender acceptance.

Now, I'm a very firm believer. I love Jesus with all of my heart, and I also love and accept all of His children. And I show no hatred for those who are trans, or gay! In fact on of my closest friends is a gay man.

I don't plan on homeschooling my kiddo, at all. And I don't want to feel guilty for that! I plan on raising her up the way I was raised. To love Jesus, and love others! So why do I feel like this? 😟

My Pastor always says "Accept all people not all behaviours" In saying that I can see her point of view in not wanting too much exposure to the sorts of things she doesn't want her children following - I totally get that but there's a fine line between decent exposure - which is safe and nessecary for making conscious choices and character building, and sheltering our children to the point of alienating them which usually results in them doing exactly what we feared they'd do out of retaliation (The Little Mermaid comes to mind😉) Their is absolutely nothing wrong in sending your kids to school as will I so don't feel guilty. Yes the world is becoming a scary place and yes there are things that we don't want our children to copy but we owe it to them as people to allow them the freewill to make that choice on their own - just as God gave us our freewill because he loves us. All we can do is teach them as God teaches us, drum morals unto them positively and cover them in prayer. X

I don't get why you feel guilty. Just bc ur friend posted she is homeschooling doesn't mean you have to do the same. Every has their own beliefs and own ways of raising their kids. You raise your kids your way and she raises hers her way. Not understanding the problem. Do what you feel is best for your family.

I plan on homeschooling my children as does a lot of my closer friends. At the same time my nephew and other friends have their kids in either public/private schools. There is not a right or wrong answer it is just what works for us.

You do not need to feel any guilt. Her plans for her family are not a judgment or commentary on what you should do with yours. I can see how hearing your friends plans may make you think twice about yours, but ultimately every family has to choose whats right for them. We plan on sending our kids to the public school by our house.

Idk why you feel guilty. We as Christians live with sin but we don't live IN sin you see what I mean? It's ok to love and respect everyone (because we're ALL Gods children and he loves every single one of us) but just because we love everyone doesn't mean we can accept what everyone does, does this mean discriminate and spew hatred and the "you're going to hell" crap? HECK NO! We just pray for our brothers and sisters like we're supposed to. Do we entertain sin? We're not supposed to but we all mess up (like for example going to a unwed mothers baby shower). My point being is that it's ok to love everyone and to bring you're child up to love everyone but you also have to bring her up in righteousness as well and to me it seems you're doing that. Keep it up girly.
