Interior decor question.

We bought a home a few months ago, and the carpet is in need of replacing. Right now the color is uniform through all the bedrooms, hall, and living areas. However, we are planning to do hardwood in the living area and hall when we rip up the carpet. My question is since the bedrooms with carpet are separate areas, should we still do matching carpeting in the rooms or can I mix it up? Will it look funny to have different flooring in each bedroom or should I choose a carpet that works with all three rooms' decor? TIA!
