Difference between Braxton hicks and round ligament pain?

Question

First time last night that I was woken up by either strong round ligament pain or a Braxton hicks contraction? I've had round ligament pains for awhile but not sure now how to tell whether its one or the other? Especially now that I'm 32+ weeks pregnant

For me... 
RLP- occurs lower and as sharp pains. 
BHC- occurs on top of my belly and feels more like extremely tightened muscles for several seconds (sometimes these hurt like extreme gas).

Everyone is different. Explain any differences between the two the you can notice to your dr, he/she should be able to tell you which is which.

I had 3 Braxton hicks last night tightness that was with pain, but came in more like a wave of pain slowly and built up. Not sharp enough to take my breath away but they do make me ouch! I'm 29 weeks and get them randomly just our bodies way of preparing for birth 😊 ligament pain is more like a stitch to me? Can be quite sharp and quick like pulling a muscle X
