What's the age gap between you/your partner?

I've just recently turned 18 and I'm dating a 26 year old. He's also my first boyfriend and the first guy I've had sex with but is this age gap unhealthy or wrong? The relationship is a secret for the most part right now because I'm unsure of what to really do or how people would react to our 8 year age difference. Am I wrong for dating an older man and is he wrong for dating an 18 year old? I was wondering how old some of you are or if any of you had any significant age gaps in your relationships.
