Contractions but no progression!

35+6 today and last Friday my Dr made me go directly from my normal appointment to L&D because I was having contractions every 5-8 minutes for an hour and was almost 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. Sent me home after 6 hours of monitored contractions because there was no change in dilation. Had them ever since and today Dr made me come in to get monitored again. Still having contractions but no change in dilation. At this point I'm just so frustrated as to why o keep having contractions so consistently. Anyone else experience this?
