Question

Anyone else in the group has the copper IUD?? If so, can you ladies please give me some insight in What I'm getting myself into! I've had it place in Tuesday, and i would LOVE to hear you gals stories!

Got mine put in at the beginning of the summer. It felt not great and mostly very weird and invasive having it put in....but honestly not as awful as I thought. I had two periods only two weeks apart a couple weeks after I got it put in. My hormones were going nuts (i had been on Bc pills up to that point and went off them when I started). Then I got another period. CRAZY pms it was awful. But then it all kinda even out. My periods are longer and a little more symptomatic now, but I actually go four full weeks between periods now instead of three. Which is a little scary when I'm waiting for it, but I'm a bit of a nervous nelly when it comes to not getting pregnant. Hahah overall I love it. I usually never think of it. I was able to go back to having sex and feeling normal very soon after having it put in. ONLY major complaint: sometimes my man feels it during sex and his penis hates it when that happens and basically throws in the towel 😒U

I've had my ParaGard for six months and it is absolutely amazing I had to have emergency surgery which led to me getting a blood clot because of my hormonal birth control that I was on. Because of this I can no longer use hormonal birth control and had to get the ParaGard IUD. I would say honestly the first three months were a little scary cramping was a little intense and getting used to bleeding a lot more during my period for the challenge I went from having almost no. On hormones to having a full-blown seven day. With 2 to 3 of those days being very heavy. Now though everything is great I use this app to track my period so I know when I'm going to need supplies and honestly I started using a diva cup and set a tampon and it's made my life a lot easier. ParaGard is great for me and it worked a lot better than Skyla which is another idea I had tried before. My best advice is to just stick with it it will get better the first couple months are scary just because you know there's a foreign body in there and you read all these horror stories online.

I ordered my diva cup online they have a sizing guide to let you know which of the two choices you need to use. I got my IUD inserted while I was on my period but I got my first full period The next month. I couldn't tell you if I bled much after getting it inserted because of me being on my period. But I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary and when I did get my period I will tell you that my first true cycle I was unprepared for and it looked like I murdered someone in my bathroom one morning when I woke up and all the blood came out from me walking from my bedroom to the bathroom so just understand that heavy means heavy at least for me. It's completely worth it though in my opinion and using the diva cup has made the heavy period really manageable
