How to tell?

How do I know when a herpes outbreak is about to occur? I've only ever had one outbreak from herpes (I've known I've had it for only a few months now) but right now I'm on my period but it's about over. Well whenever I wipe it hurts a little. Maybe not exactly hurt but it feels not right. Also when I'm sitting my vagina just feels different, if that makes sense. Could this be a sign of a herpes outbreak?

Sounds like it might be... Usually it'll get tingly or kinda sore... They have meds you can take daily to make sure you don't ever get an outbreak.

It could be. My mother has genital herpes (a result from her ex husband's affair- that's how she found out he'd been unfaithful), and she told me she can always tell when she's about to have an outbreak because the area will feel kind of tingly and sore. My mom's a total hippie at heart, so she also sings the praises of using tea tree oil while having an outbreak too. She takes that medication that helps with outbreaks, but she also treats the infected area with pure tea tree oil & says it makes it go away in half the time. Years ago I had a scare and thought I'd contracted genital herpes, and it was during this time that my mom told me about the tea tree oil. It turned out not being herpes, just a staph infection from shaving with an old razor. My doc prescribed antibiotics, but I used the tea tree oil anyway and it worked wonders for helping that heal too. Hope this helps a little!
