Discontinuing oral contraceptive, is this normal

 After being on oral contraceptive that stopped ovulation I finally discontinued June 12 I had a period June 16 through the 20th then didn't have a period until  July 22-26 which was a 36 day cycle. My  husband and I are TTC, I am currently on cycle day 39 waiting on my period to show up. I've taken a couple of hpt but they have been negative. Since I've already had a natural period is it strange for me to go this long without a period or to be on such a long cycle?
