When can I test?

I'm fairly new here and currently ttc baby #2. Baby 1 took about three years to conceive and I'm hoping this one is much faster!
My periods come about 35 days apart (sometimes more, sometimes less, I can never be sure). They've always been this way and I think that's why it was so hard to conceive the first time.
My last period was August 2nd and I don't expect my next until around September 7th. Glow thinks I ovulated between the 19th and 25th but I think I ovulated earlier. With my weird period lengths, when is the best time to test? I'm so impatient and always test too early. I tested over the weekend and it was negative, of course.
