how did you know when you were done having kids?

I have one and like the idea of only having one but I worry he will want a sibling when he's older. And I worry I'll look back and regret not having another but in the present one is so much easier and better in my opinion.. I think about things like Christmas and holidays though and think I may regret not having more.

Thoughts?

I don't think you should have another baby solely to please your first born.  Siblings don't always like each other or get along. My older brother and I didn't play together as kids and basically have no relationship besides seeing each other at family events. I personally want 3 or 4 kids (I have 3 so far), but I have a cousin who only had 1 and they're all very happy. There are definitely advantages of having just one, financially and more freedom to travel etc. If you feel like 'someone is missing' or get baby fever or you might regret not having another then go for it, but don't do it just so your child has a sibling.

I feel like I only want my one baby but I also feel like she shouldn't have to deal with my crazy all by herself so I'm definitely having at least one more

My daughter is almost 5 and for 2 years she also tells me mommy im so lonely im so lonely and finally after  trying for 2 and a half years we r able to give her a baby brother and she is so happy and say mommy when my baby brother comes im not going to be lonely anymore 💗😍 so its up to u but some kids do get lonley

Ive had a pretty sickening pregnancy so far and yes i am a crybaby. I dont feel like i can go through this again but i feel lik i want a girl :/ im pregnant w twin boys.might go for it one more time in hope of her but idk :(

We have one about to finish college (not mine, his) and we're due in a few weeks. Having more than one after spending a lot on college makes my head spin. I think only children are perfectly content without siblings. It's what you want, not them. Ours will both be only children in a way and we're fine with that.

I'm not necessarily done, but might be.

My husband and I have a son already and this pregnancy we are expecting a daughter. I have already had one csection, may have to have another, and have GD. We will have to take all of that into consideration when we discuss the next child. There are risks from recurrent csections, and I'll likely have GD every time. Which sounds awful. 😂

But I will say that I was an only child and I wanted to give my son a sibling, where as my husband has one sister who is 7 years younger. He didn't feel strongly one way or the other. His only stipulation was that if we had more than 1, they would be closer together than he and his sister.

This probably didn't help at all. 😂

Let me just say that I was an only child until I was 16, and I loved it. I had the best childhood! Now my sisters are so small im basically still an only child, but the bond I have with my mother is unlike anything else. I'm still my dads only child, and I love it.

I have 2 siblings. One 4 years younger than me and one 10 years. I'm not close with either and told my mom I was meant to be an only child when she told me she was pregnant with my sister. They aren't going to know different either way so if you want another have another, but don't have one just so your kid won't be lonely. They will have friends when they are older and all of your attention when they are younger. And just because they do have a sibling doesn't mean they will be close.
