Dont know how to deal with it...

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years. For some reason he keeps getting angry over little things anymore. This morning he was slamming doors and cussing about everything because he couldnt find his knife for work or his hat. I was trying to help him find it but then he called me an "ingrit" for looking in places I thought he would have set it. I went back to bed because I wasnt going to help him look if he was going to treat me like that. I started crying and he got mad because he thought it wasnt anything to cry about. I have told him that he needs to treat me how he would want his little sisters boyfriend to treat her and that I deserve better treatment than Im getting. At that point he usually storms off and says I should just go date my ex then. I dont know how to deal with any of this...but I am really getting sick of it.
