My fiance asked me to marry him 6 months ago no ring i didnt mind i told everyone and i set a date next year but havent planned anything (although i want to so bad) because he said when he got the money he wanted to propose correctly with a ring so i was going to wait for that(didnt know it take so long but wateva ig). Now the main reason im waiting is because 1. our 3 years of being together ive literally never got a special valentines birthday or xmas im always the gift giver and date planner cause hes not good at the planning or saving for things like that. And im not gone lie ppl might think im an ass but us laying in bed smoking a blunt when he asked just didnt seem real to me ik im engaged but i just dont actually feel like i am. So i was kinda looking at it as way to see if he can finally do something special and prove he knows how to actually save money if he want to buy me a ring and once it happens ill feel it. Is this dumb should i just plan if ik i want to marry him or is this a good idea

My husband proposed to me. We set a date and he literally didn't get the ring until two weeks before our wedding date. Lord knows my husband is the nicest man I know but he has no idea about how to be all romantic. Any gift I get is what I pick out while we're at the store. If I'm not around he wont buy anything. He just not good at it because I'm the first relationship he's taken serious in his 30 years of life. We've been together three years and he's finally getting used cuddling with me. Lol. He use put me in choker holds in his sleep because he thought someone was attacking him. Lol. So, every man is not the traditional romantic you hear or read stories about. If you know he loves you, and is sincere then that should be enough.

My husband proposed with a bubble gum machine ring and it was incrediblely romantic. Admittedly, I was hoping for a real ring but the reason he didn't get one at first is because he was afraid he would pick one out and I might not like it (but I'm sure it would have been fine). We picked one out together a couple months later. I think you deserve a little romance too! You deserve an on one knee moment. However, not all guys get that. Help him understand why it's important to you and let him know that you could maybe help pick out the ring if he's worried about it. Some people are bad at gifts and big moments and that's ok, but if he really loves you and this is important to you, let him know and if he's the one, he should put in the effort.

Thanks for the advice Idk if this was good idea or not but since its been almost a year and ive seen no effort i gave him a deadline til December if he wants kids and wants me to continue. He got upset but  im tired of waiting i told him i dont even care if it a 50$ ring

I got married without an actual proposal with a ring but my hubby is gonna buy me a ring and do the whole proper proposal. I also regret nothing
