Help me!

Okay so I have this guy friend... And well, he said he liked me in THAT way. We were friends as kids so we pretty much grew up together. So I moved away from out home town for about a year and a half before coming back, I didn't see him at all but I got back in touch, just not face to face. But a few months ago, he said he likes me and I like him to. But I moved to London for a few months and came back to visit and I met up with him. Anyway, he was a gentleman but on the bus, he was just on the phone to his mate like.. Ignoring me....

I moved back from London recently and noe he seems a bit.. Flat with me and awkward while texting bit face to face he's less awkward. Shall I keep my hopes up and tell him about my feelings or just drop it, forget about them and move on? I'm so unsure please help! First ever real crush I've never had a boyfriend!
