My daughters a week old, I had no choice but to give her formula/bottle every two hours since she was born because she has jaundice. I  pumped this morning and from both breast got only 1oz together. I'm trying again and I barely get a few drops. Starting to get disappointed and sad. What can I do? Just give up? My daughter doesn't latch on she screams like crazy when I try to put her on.

I'd also advocate for spending lots of time skin-to-skin with your baby, if you can. So much of BF is an instinctual, hormonal reaction between you and your baby. Give both of your bodies the opportunity to help each other through this rough patch!

For latching I recommend a nipple shield for sure, and for supply problems I've noticed that steel cut oatmeal and blue Gatorade has significantly increased my supply. And pump as much as you can. If all else fails and you have to give your baby formula, do not let people Shame you, your baby will be fed and healthy either way.

Formula feed her for health reasons & try to breast feed when you can. Make sure she's getting what she needs, but when she's in a calm and happy place, give her the boob. That's what I did :) I had to formula feed to get her weight up and my milk didn't come in yet. She's now only formula fed, she prefers it. She liked the breastfeeding more for comfort than for my milk. And she's surpassed her growth weight by a ton at 7 weeks :)

Go to a lactation consultant and get help! Trust me, if it wasn't for the lady I saw I wouldn't be breastfeeding. I still supplement half way with my daughter and we have been doing this for 6.5 months. I'll give any advice you need, I've been through breastfeeding hell and back lol from latch issues to lip tie to low supply, you name it haha. Don't give up, it does get better!!! Look up supplemental nursing system, it works great for getting your baby retrained at breastfeeding. And if it doesn't work out you tried and don't beat yourself up, I didn't breastfeed either of my other girls and one is in gifted and the other can out read anyone in her class. Love is the most important thing 💜💜

For latching problems try nipple shield helped me bc my baby was used to the bottle nipple. Otherwise my milk supply is also not enough for my baby and I have to supplement which breaks my heart ;( 
But I guess thats just jow some woman are. Some have to much milk and some cant feed their baby one real meal

Just curious but why did you stop with jaundice?  I got told almost every newborn gets it to some degree? Mine did. Anyway,  your supply isn't necessarily dead. I've heard of lesbian couples where one has the baby and the other induced lactation so they can both feed it. It will probably be easier for you because you already have the hormone and are making milk (even if it's just a little bit). I would say eat oatmeal,  pump after feeding (like 5-15 min on each side),  try not to supplement with formula (you may be tempted, but it will lower your supply because your baby will eat less of your milk and thusly your body will make less), and try to relax while you feed/pump. It will help with let down. I wish you the best of luck!

Keep pumping and offering her your breasts. Don't feel bad about giving formula. If your baby is happy and healthy than don't stress about not giving breast milk
