does anyone else have really bad mother in law issues?

My mother-in-law seems intent on making my pregnancy and my marriage miserable. She has taken four of my big firsts, our engagement announcement, our wedding announcement and demanding to add people to our wedding guest list, when we got pregnant she told EVERYONE about it before me and my husband did, and she found out the gender of the baby (we were keeping it a secret) and told everyone again. I'm pretty sure she went through my purse to find the ultrasound pictures.

She keeps begging me for her to go along with me to my pregnancy checks, gets upset if we don't tell her anything, and got really upset when I finally told her off over her gossiping about me. She's best friends with my ob's mother in law too and is constantly trying to get info about the pregnancy that way, and called my doctors office claiming to be my mom, to get info on my next appointment date.

I'm at my wits end with her. Has anyone had these kinds of issues, and if you did, what helped for you?

I would get a new OB, but they are not allowed to release any info. You have to put your foot down. I would not put up with this crap.

Wow that is craziness... I don't really deal with my mother in law, that is my husband job. Don't get me wrong I will hang out with her and talk to her, however it is my husband job to let her know if she is over stepping. Which she has in the past only a few times.
Now if it is a big problem ( like your having) we all would need to have a sit down. Boundaries need to be discussed and set in Place!!!

The only problem I have with mine is she guilt trips me a lot 😑 if I don't do somthing she wants she gets all sad and Whiney and childish and acts super upset.... It gets so annoying but makes me feel like shit so I give in.... I hate it so much... She will be in the delivery room because of this... And i have to constantly pay attention to if I'm giving my parents too much attention or not because if I don't she says I'm ignoring her 😑🙄

Yeah it is time to distance yourself. Not health for your family. 
Sounds like she might have some mental issues. 
Crazy because it is really important that children have grandparents in their lives!!! Sad she can not get herself together.

My mil is the same way!!! She has tried to take our son away from us and stole money from our bank account!!!! She's certifiably insane!!! And his father is oblivious!! They don't even know about our pregnancy!!! It's his step mom so she has no blood ties to my husband or our children!! Thankfully our children still have amazing grandparents!!! I say cut ties before it starts to effect your health!!! That was our final straw she tried to get physical with me about 2 years ago!! Praying for your situation!!! Stay strong mama

Sorry you are having these problems. My MIL hates me. It's for a few reasons, she thinks I stole her son away and she hates that I'm not Hispanic and can't speak Spanish. Honestly my husband did not find it hard to cut her out of our lives because they were not close ever. He was raised by his grandma in El Salvador and didn't start living with her till 14. The only thing I think about is how my son and now my daughter will grow up without a grandma because of her hatred for me. We went to a party a month ago and she ignored us. My son is too young to know who she is but it does sting a tad knowing she is rejecting him. Anyways I hope you can change doctors and also get away from her. It's not a healthy position for you to be so stressed.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your husband. She is WAY overstepping her boundaries! I agree with another person who commented, if telling her to back off isn't working, it's time to block her at this point. It's not a healthy situation at all. 
I can't say I have had this issue myself. However, my MIL is having some sort of mid-life crisis. When my husband told her we were pregnant, with her first grandchild by the way, she was happy for .5 seconds. Then she realized that we wouldn't be flying across the country for her 50th birthday. So the rest of the conversation was her guilting my husband about not attending. The rest of the pregnancy, she hasn't been involved at all. For me, it's whatever because my family has been involved. However, I feel so sad for my husband. It's our first child and she has had very minimal interaction of care at all. 😕

This is crazy! I would tell her to leave you the hell alone for a while . tell her she can come to appointments once in a while if she stays out of your life for a while lol
