Pap smears 🤔

Okay so I was having a little chat with some of my work colleagues (they're all above 30) and I was saying that it's ridiculous that in the UK I won't get a Pap smear done until 6 months before I'm 25. Of course, if there was something wrong I could request it but I don't understand why it's so late on in life? My personal opinion is that it should be brought down to at least 20. I've been sexually active since 17 and so I feel it is something that would need to be done. I'm not saying it needs to be done immediately once you have sex. Does anyone else feel the same way? Or does anyone from different countries have different ages for Pap smears?
