Mosque being built 10 miles from me.

I live in Newton county, GA. Recently it was released that a family sold a bunch of land to an Islam group. They are going o build a mosque, school, cementary, and some homes on the property. They have held several meetings at city hall, and have decided to put a hold on buying or building ALL religious stuff in the county. Yesterday milita members were protesting. I honestly don't know that much about Islam. I am open to hearing both sides. It does anger me that this is America and we have freedom of religion. I feel like any religious group shouldn't have to feel persecuted. I am torn on this. I told my husband I want to move because this seems to be becoming a big problem, not just the mosque but the people fighting them is scary. I don't want my kids around the "hot spot". can I get some insight please?
