Did/do your parents have a favorite child?

My boyfriends Mom isn't around, and his Dad treats him like crap. He grew up with 3 sisters, he's a middle child. (He's 18) For his Dad claiming to be a very religious person (goes to church groups every night, prays in tongues, drives out of state to church events) he is the biggest hypocrite I've ever met. He has tried to strangle my boyfriend because my boyfriend didn't fold the towels correctly. (My BF and I do 99% of the house chores because their dad doesn't ever ask the girls to). They're all older than 16, they've been raised not to have to do anything. If they make a mess, we get bitched at to clean it. My boyfriend is always getting blamed for everything, even if it had nothing to do with him. If anything goes wrong, like the dryer breaks or a towel is left in the bathroom or a dish in the sink, my boyfriend gets screamed at. He likes my family better than his own.. his dad doesn't even remember his birthday. He'll buy the girls expensive dresses or whatever they want but if my boyfriends belt breaks his dad throws a fit. It makes me feel so bad for him because it's very clear that their Dad favors the girls over him, even though he is the one who listens to their Dad and helps him and cleans. Nothing he does is ever good enough, but if one of the girls folds a blanket they get praise.
