Induce labor

What can i do to incude labor naturally? My doctor said she wants to try and have me start labor at 38 weeks which is in a few days but will leave me till my next appointment in a week. She said my son is getting too big and I want to avoid csection so she wanted to induce me but I asked if I could try and induce labor naturally till my next appointment instead and if not I'll give in on getting induced and hopefully no csection after that. I'm also a ftm soooo any advice?
