I work at a daycare primarily with children 0-9. On my shift it's just me and the kids. I'm the only employee that has a solo shift but there are cameras throughout the facility and outside. One of the kids I take care of is a four year old who insists on calling me Mom/Mama even though he knows I'm not his mother. He calls the other adults by their preferred names but not me. I've been trying to get him to call me something ANYTHING else but no luck so far. Part of me feels like he's a little kid, and while he's here, he sees me do all the stuff his mom probably does at home like cook, feed him, clean up, discipline, etc. so no big deal. The other part of me feels like he really shouldn't be calling me that. Thoughts?
