How do I know?

I've been out of a serious relationship for a while now and feel like I'm ready to get myself back out there. I've been texting a guy for a week or so now and last night the conversation got a bit dirty. He's a year older than me, has a good job, is in a band and comes from a nice family but it makes me wonder if he talks about sex so soon does this mean he only wants sex? He's told me he doesn't want a casual thing but I find it so hard to trust boys after previous experiences. He wants to meet next weekend and so I'm going to watch his band play. So ladies, can boys want something serious if they're thinking about sex so soon?
