Would you buy cloth diapers from consignment? or is that gross?

I found some at a really cute baby boutique ...newbie to the whole cloth diapering route and have so many questions! Are those plastic covers so outdated/useless now? Pins or those little claw thingies? What size covers should I buy (should I skip right over newborn)? Best brands? And what about the cloth wipes--what do you use, just water or mix with baby wash? And are they a pain in the ass for travel? Do you use prefolds at all?

I was looking at a website  where people trade and sell used cloth diapers, usually you can get them free with the cost of shipping. BUT they were very worm down and didn't even look like they were worth it or would last. So I opted at either trying to obtain over the next few months enough new cloth diapers or even using a eco-friendly disposable, or a combo of both. My sister in law is is doing cloth and she doesn't save much money due to the constant washing and care products for her cloth diapers, and shes having all kind of leaking problems.

They still have plastic covers that use pins or this little thing called a Snappi, with a plastic waterproof cover :) I personally use one size pocket diapers with disposable wipes. You can use just water or mix a tiny bit of baby wash in a bottle to spray on and wipe off. And if you do buy used just be sure bleach them first :)

I think it is fine. I buy mine used because it's cheaper and I just sterilize them myself.
