Birth control pills to stop acne?

I get pretty bad hormonal/cystic acne (the kind that leaves discoloration behind) and I'm so frustrated with it that I'd do anything to get rid of it. I've read that taking birth control helps your acne, I was wondering if there is any truth to that? Any ladies go through the same thing?

Certain birth controls can help with acne. It all depends on the chemistry of your body. I use the birth control where you take the steady amount of hormones every day, expect for the last week, and that seems to help with my acne a little. But the depo shot made me break out so bad. All depends on you, you will just have to experiment.

I actually get worse acne with bc, then again it may be different for you anythings worth a try.
