Has anyone else experienced this?

So my period never showed and over a week later I get very mild spotting. Then it became heavier. I even had a few blood clots.. the week prior to heavy spotting I had very bad pelvic and back area cramps on my right side. So could this be implantation bleeding? I have bought a test but I'm not sure if it's too soon to test! Any suggestions on what this may be and has anyone else experienced this before?
