baby car kit?

i'm not due until january, but i've been thinking about putting together a little car kit of things for the baby just in case in both mine and my boyfriends car. 
do you all think it's a good idea? what wouk you recommend to be put into it that won't melt/spoil/freeze?
just as a precaution in case either of us forget the diaper bag or the car breaks down for some reason.

My kit includes a few diapers, a small thing of wipes in a baggy, two changes of clothes, a light blanket (I live in CA, so no need for heavier), one toy, and an extra clean bottle.

Anything you would put in a diaper bag, although i've never forgotten mine, not once. I would put some extra clothes, blankets, diapers, baby wipes, lotion. Maybe some toys. If your baby is formula fed I would put some of the premixed bottles you can get at the store in there as well--but be weary--a lot of formula feeding mommies don't realize how much they might have to switch formula. Honestly, i would just get two cheap, extra diaper bags, pack them and leave them in the car. But its really hard to forget the original diaper bag in the first place, when it has literally everything you need for your baby.

I would put diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, a light blanket (so it's versatile for any weather), an extra outfit a size bigger than what baby wears now (so if you forget to change it out a little later it's not ridiculously small). Maybe some Tylenol or gas drops if those can be kept at car temperatures (extremes of hot and cold). Pacifiers if you use those. Bibs maybe. Usually when I forget the diaper bag, it's because I'm rushing somewhere that should be quick, so I don't think you need to put too much in it. I always had diapers, wipes, and an extra outfit in my car and that's pretty much all I needed.
